Master of Pastoral Ministry:  36 credit hours

All courses are 3 credits with the exception of the Master of Ministry Project which is six credits.  Instead of the Master of Ministry project, students may take 2 elective courses.

MPM101, MPM201, and MPM 401 are required courses; the rest are elective.

The Master of Pastoral Ministry degree program offers courses in an expanded worldview of a liberating God in contemporary theologies and in the development of new models of partnership in ministry for the 21st century. Students use a reflection process to apply their lived experiences to texts and resources in an interactive forum that creates a learning community. Course content includes the study of Jesus’ teachings, the growth of diverse faith communities in early Christianity, the role of women in the mystical tradition, the history of the sacraments, renewed sacramental rites, spirituality and pastoral care, social justice and activism.

Courses in this program are offered on Teachable© rather than in the GMU Classroom. After registering for an MPM course, the student will receive a link to access its classroom in Teachable©.
