This course will study the history of the Christian Church from the Reformation to the present, under the following four headings: 1. The Protestant Reformation, antecedents and consequences; the evolution of Protestantism and the Catholic Reformation, consequences.  2. The Enlightenment, Rationalism, Secularism, Pietism. and Reactions of the Churches to those movements. 3. Colonialism and Missionary Expansion and The Ecumenical Movement, attitudes and accomplishments of the various Christian Churches. 4. Vatican I, end of an era for the Roman Catholic Church. and. Vatican II, start of an era for the Roman Catholic Church.
